Prior to coming to Fischel & Kahn, Ltd., Mr. Schmiedel was the Deputy Public Guardian for the Adult Guardianship Division in the Cook County Public Guardian's Office.
A substantial part of his practice is devoted to the representation of disabled adults in guardianship proceedings, with a special emphasis on financial exploitation cases and general probate litigation.

He also represents children in state and federal litigation. More generally he represents clients in civil proceedings in both federal and state court.
