Deborah Soehlig is a principal at Fischel Kahn who focuses on trusts and estate administration as well as complex business disputes.
Her practice involves all manner of probate cases, from contested estates and trusts to estate administration matters. Clients turn to her to ensure estates are handled in the way they were intended, with the goal of achieving mutually beneficial resolutions.
Deborah’s success in probate stems from her litigation experience, which includes handling complex, high-end business disputes such as the dissolution of business partnerships and breach-of-contract issues. She has extensive experience in state and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies such as the EEOC and IDES.
She also handles a variety of employment issues, including discrimination and termination matters, as well as advising on employee policies and handbooks.
Deborah keeps abreast of all employment law issues, most notably those impacted by COVID, and advises clients on how to comply with updates.
Deborah also regularly shares her ADR related insights including recent updates and case analyses with the ISBA ADR section council community.
Deborah is AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest level of professional excellence in ethical standards and legal ability. She is also the current Vice Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association and regularly pens articles for the Section, as well as the Bench & Bar Section.
