Rachel Kolesar is a principal at Fischel Kahn, focusing her practice in family and matrimonial law and general litigation. She has successfully resolved cases in both trial and appellate courts.

Rachel draws upon her diverse family law experience to guide clients through complex divorce and custody matters. Understanding that each matter is personal and sensitive, she brings an empathetic approach to ensure clients know that she has their best interests in mind.

Earlier in her career, she bolstered her knowledge of family law through her position as a legal extern in the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County under the Honorable Judge Ellen L. Flannigan.

Rachel also served as an intern at the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office in the Domestic Relations Division while completing her J.D. at the DePaul University College of Law. In this position, she aided in the representation of children in complex custody cases.

Prior to joining Fischel Kahn in the summer of 2021, Rachel worked as an associate attorney at another prominent Chicago law firm, focusing her practice exclusively in the area of family and matrimonial law.
