Ronald Menna Shares Best Practices for Preserving the Record on Appeal at Recent ISBA Seminar

Ronald Menna spoke at a recent Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) seminar, “Civil Practice Update 2024,” presented by the organization’s Civil Practice & Procedure Section. Other speakers at the event included current and retired judges as well as leading Illinois trial attorneys.

As part of the event, Ron presented on preserving the record on appeal, where he shared best practice tips for successfully preserving issues and the record at the trial court level in preparation for an appeal. Other topics of discussion at the event covered e-discovery, how to obtain personal jurisdiction, medical records and audit trials, mediation/arbitration, ethical issues of AI and how courtrooms have changed post-COVID.

Ron’s primary areas of practice are civil appeals, commercial litigation, and chancery actions. He represents a wide variety of individuals and corporate clients, as well as banks, corporate fiduciaries, and individuals in guardianship proceedings. Ron has extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts and has successfully argued before the Illinois Appellate Court and the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
