Mark Rosenbaum Details Legal Differences Between Condos and Co-Ops in WGN-TV Piece on High-Rise Residents Displaced by Fire

Mark Rosenbaum was featured in a recent WGN-TV piece covering the ongoing repairs to a high-rise co-op building that was severely damaged in a fire last winter. In the story, Mark highlighted the differences in Illinois law between condominium associations and co-ops, noting that condos are required by statute to maintain casualty (fire) insurance for the full replacement value of the association’s building while co-ops are not bound by any similar statute.

Mark also emphasized that while there is legislation detailing how condos should be run, there is almost no similar legislation for co-ops.
