Fischel Kahn proudly announces the formal appointment of Rachel Kolesar as a partner to the firm.
Rachel concentrates her practice on family and matrimonial law and general litigation. Drawing from her diverse family law experience, she guides clients through complex divorce and custody matters. As a result of her empathetic and strategic approach, Rachel has successfully resolved cases in trial and appellate courts as well as through alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes.
Earlier in her career, she bolstered her knowledge of family law through her position as a legal extern in the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County under the Honorable Judge Ellen L. Flannigan. Rachel also served as an intern at the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office in the Domestic Relations Division while completing her J.D. at the DePaul University College of Law. In this position, she aided in the representation of children in complex custody cases.
She is regularly recognized by the industry’s most prestigious lists. She was lauded by Best Lawyers as a member of the 2024 “Ones to Watch.” In 2023 she was ranked by Super Lawyers for her exceptional achievements and by Leading Lawyers in 2022 as one of their Emerging Lawyers.
Rachel earned her J.D. with a Certificate in Family Law from the DePaul University College of Law in 2015 after receiving her B.A. from the University of Iowa in 2012.
